Taking a trip to Pennsylvania soon, and was wondering, does SEPTA still use Silverliner IVs, and if so, where? I would love to see em, wondering if anyone knows any routes or places where they are common.
Thanks!

30th St Station, upper level for sure. I don’t think they segregate by route, so just about any suburban route, any time, they could show up.
Welcome back @PEBirney331
Thank you very much @GabeTehGameh !
@oltmannd Thanks for the tip, will definitely go there. While were on the topic, are there any other good spots anyone recommends in the Philadelphia area? I did hear many things about Zoo Interlocking, and I checked it out on Google Maps, and it looks awesome. I was wondering if any freight trains go through there. Also, more specifically, I read somewhere that there are the occasional trash trains that go through Zoo? Id love to see a trash train, (we dont have many of those in California). When would the best time be to hopefully see a trash train at Zoo, or I guess anywhere in Pennsylvania.
Thanks alot!
It’s just about impossible to take photos at Zoo. Around 30th St Station is pretty good. There are views to the south of the station on the pedestrian bridge near South St. also from the parking deck at 30th St on the north side, I think. Except for the occasional train on the highline, zero freight.
Any suburban stop on the NEC will get you lots of SEPTA and Amtrak action.
For freight, it’s tougher. The trail along the Schuylkill River is good for CSX traffic. River Road in Pennsauken NJ is good for NS and CSX and Conrail plus River Line light rail, but not really busy with freight.
West Trenton is also good for CSX, but not much traffic. Anywhere west of Reading PA is really good for NS - Sinking Spring, Palmyra - lots of traffic,
Okay, great! Thanks alot. Bummer about zoo, looks pretty cool.
By the way, one other thing I was gonna ask is, does Amtrak use their old Metroliner Cab Cars? I would like to see some of those too,
Thanks!
Keystone service trains.
Okay, cool. Thanks for all your help!
