I like diesel better how about you and why???

I like both just the same with favorites in each category.

On the steam side I love the K4 4-6-2 Pacific.
On the Diesel side I love the Alco RS-3 and the GP-7.

On the negative side, I hate Camel backs, and don’t really care for the F7 class diesel. Sorry if I offended anyone, but it’s just my opinion, and no more right or wrong than any.

I like steam, particularly late steam. But, I model transition era diesel.

I prefer diesel,as the onle steam I have seen is on fantrips or tourist lines.I do like mainline electrics,though[:)].

I like them both so I chose other. I’m modeling modern diesel but whats the harm in running a UP Bigboy or an old Hudson on the main line once in awhile. I do it all the time.

I like both diesel and steam so I chose other of course… because my layout will be based off of a movie studio (fictional of course) I will be able to run both steam and diesel on my layout.

There are alot of types of steam too.

I prefer diesel because it’s what I see running in real life and there are so many different color schemes to them.

But,… I may find myself being pulled to the dark side (Not the evil side, just black)[;)] No offence spacemouse, your steamer has some great color.

Those steamers are sure starting to look good.

STEAM crushes diesel in the variety department. For within most listed wheel arrangements, there are dozens and dozens of body styles.
Think about how many looks the Mikado came in. [:0]

130 years of steam locomotive evolution to spawn thousands of invidual looks!

Mostly I like steam, but I also like the GG1 and the Boxcab Deisel and some of the little switchers like SW1.

I am partial to steam but I do like the early diesels - e.g. the Alco S1 swticher. My preference is to watch a steam locomotive because it visually holds my interest and “reaks” of motion - i.e. wheels, push rods, trailing smoke trails, etc. Modern diesels just sorta look the same to me.

Diesel is awesome especially the sound they make and i really like the SD40-2.
