Steam or diesel

just wonder’n

Steam or Diesel? Oh this is gonna tic off the electric guys!!
And what about us guys who model both???[}:)]

Diesel!!!

All of the above…
Now all we need is someone to say “Other: Dinosaurs…”

Diesel.

Not again.

Steam All the way. Long Live the Pennsylvania K-4… and CP 's Royal Hudson!!

Why?

How about those of us who run steam, diesel-hydraulic and elecric locomotives, plus DMU and EMU train sets without locomotives. I try to match the motive power to the schedule I run, based on on-site observations made when I was 42 years younger than I am now.

My freelance line is all steam, except for one diesel railbus. Of course, it’s owned by a coal company and its two major car loaders are coal mines.

Folks, if you are in the “oh no…not again” camp. Just remember that many people have not been on the forum for eons like some of us. This place caters to all ages, experience levels and tastes. Remember that onec-upon-a-time, you were new and enthusiastic and eager to participate. Further more the search function is so bad that it is next to worthless, so it is not suprising that the same things keep coming up over and over again. It really is rather easy to ignore things that are of no interest to you.

Subways. Trolleys. All that stuff on the surface just gives me something to run the tunnels under.

As the submarine guys say, “There are only 2 things in the ocean. Other submarines, and targets.”

remember “I” before “E” except after “c”

anyways my favorite is diesel maybe because iw as growing up in the steam age

I agree with Simon, we have to do some stuff over and over again. When I first started all the questions were new. Now some are old for me, but I assume not for the people who ask them.

By the way I do steam, except a few diesels that come through the wormhole from who knows where or when.

Horse powered for me. Is this the Southern Railroad?

i was in a hurry fixed

There are exceptions.

WEIRD for instance. Not to mention WEIR.

In any case, diesel is derived from the German name of its inventor (Rudolf Diesel) and doesn’t follow the rules of English spelling.

Conan the Grammarian - Pedant to the great, the near great and those whose 15 minutes have come and gone. [:D]

Matter of preference… I always spell it “diseasal”… [:o)][8D][:D]

“Does anybody really know what time it is; does anybody really care?”

Chicago

“If so, I can’t imagine why.” [:D]

Both. About 75% of my collection is diesel, but that’s because it’s more affordable than steam. If I could afford it, I would have a 4-8-8-4, 2-8-8-2, 4-8-8-2, 2-8-8-8-2, 2-6-6-6…[:D]

I remember one of those Thomas the tank engine Shows where the diseasals were coming, and the trains were worried they would get sick
Coughs and Sneezles spread diseasles
