Which kind of model railroader are you ?...

Are you into DCC, or are you an old fashion modeler that’s not into all the modern electronic jazz ?..

I personally am an old fashion modeler, but I greatly admire those that are into DCC.

Tracklayer [:D]

I like to run trains, not switches.

I didn’t vote, because I’m a “DCC wannabe” - my layout is still setup for DC because I can’t afford all the decoders I need for my 30+ locos, but my track is gapped and wired [to accommodate DCC] and I have a Digitrax Chief ready to be put into service when the time comes…

I’m sticking with cab control for now. Since I can only run one train at a time anyway, I just can’t justify the cost of DCC. Maybe if/when it becomes more affordable I’ll switch. But, with things the way they are now, my current system works great

[#ditto]…except I only have six loco’s to convert.

I’m still into DC my self, the thing that worried me is actually changing over the 20 plus engines I have already, even if they can all be changed??? I imagine I’ll do it one day, just haven’t decided when. Joey

Currently I am using DC, but will probably go into DCC at some point.

DCC. I wouldn’t even consider going back to DC.

I use DC right now, but I may switch to a mix of DC and DCC someday, with my DC power-pack controlling one track and the DCC controlling another.[:)]

I’m still a DC guy…if the funds were available, I’d surely convert to DCC…chuck

I voted that I’m in to DCC, but I’m still running DC. Hopefully I’ll make the leap next year to DCC.

When I got back into MR after taking 15 years off, I decided that I might just as well make the leap to DCC. Several friends in the hobby were using it and loved it. I would never go back to DC again.

I’ve decided to stay with DC for now. Most (75%) of my locomotives are either older Athearn or Athearn (RPP shells on Athearn drives) derived and I have decided that it would be less work to wire my layout for 2 cab control than rebuild all of my engines. I also have a Controlmaster walk around throttle from a previous layout to get started with.

However, I will wire my layout with an eye towards converting to DCC in the future.

Cheers,
George

I’m running DCC though I’ve yet to convert most of my fleet. Cost of decoders is making me think about what I really want to run and what can wait (the more expensive and better running locos are top of the list).

DC right now, after the layout is done, i’ll take a look at DCC, however at the rate i’m going, DCC will be history and we will be running trains off of GPS…lol

DC right now, but DCC as soon as the layout is up and the funds are available.

Both, will be 98%DCC with a loop for the old stuff I still have.

Allan.

Man, I can’t even wire a simple house switch. Besides DCC is out of my price range for now.

I have successfully used a Detroit System for my trolleys in the past and will definitely go to DCC when the decoders hit $-10.00 each.
