Which "scale" annuals are self-propagating?

I’d like to plant annuals like parsley, etc., but would like them to self-propogate the following year, possibly by dropping seeds. Are there any annuals with “scale” qualities that might qualify for this?

Thanks.

I’ve had good luck with chamomile self-propating (don’t know your USDA Hardiness Zone, but I’m a 5). It’s ferny foliage is certainly in scale, and none of mine grow much higher than 6-8 inches.

Looks a bit like daisies but said to have medicinal value. I’ll check them out next spring:
