My NYC 4-6-4 steam engine #6-8600 with matching tender which has steam sounds doesn’t whistle. Any comments?
Try reversing the direction of the wires going to the track. If this doesn’t work, it could be that you have either a defective whistle or controller.
Hello Diamond ! The Sound-of- Steam- unit in the Tender of your #8600 never had a whistle at all! It only had the Chugging sound in it. If you want a whistle sound; Lionel made numerous Whistle Shacks over the years that can be bought at a reasonable cost and they are easy to find.I’ve seen quite a few at various train shows & shops.Hope this helps.
