The recent Trains issue about the White Pass and Yukon rekindled an interest in its GE diesels, numbered from 90 I believe.
Can anybody give some more information? Drawings, measurements, horsepower etc.
I think this same model was also delivered to Chile and Thailand.
Has anybody made a model (n-scale)?

The WP&Y shovel-noses were a relatively standard GE export design prior to the introduction of the Universal line in 1955. Uruguay had some double-ended shovel-noses. Some issues of the Diesel Spotter’s Guide may provide length and HP for the WP&Y units.
Engines may have been chosen by the customer. Some shovel-noses were powered by Alco 244 engines.

As for models, I don’t know of any that have been done in Nn3. There have been brass HOn3 models of this engine produced and Railmaster Exports, www.railmaster.co.nz does have a white metal kit available in Sn3.

The first diesels in Indonesia were known as the CC200 class. Of 27 class members introduced beginning in 1953 only three remain. There is a move to preserve at least one, but funds are needed.
