When a track plan is reproduced from MR artwork, it would be cool if the numbered arrows were hyperlinked to the photos that appeared in the magazine. (I would prefer pop-up windows, personally – less distracting.)
I little more detail would be appreciated. When I look at the PDF, it’s very difficult to scale measurements from the grid, because the grid is very faint and does not cross the artwork.
I wish MR would say what track is used for all the plans. I am planning an n scale layout but can’t find a single crossover aside from Bachmann and double crossovers. This plan has a single and if I could know what track is used…
The 800 pound missing gorilla in the room is information on how to wire this layout for DC, DCC, or a system that enables one to flip control between the two. And while I’m on this rant, info on how to wire that reversing loop would be of great help. To be complete, the wiring information should include what type of turnouts are used (insulfrog, electrofrog or power-routing) and how to wire them. Lack of wiring info is the situation with nearly all the layout ideas MR presents.
scaling can be done at any Fedex store or UPS store copy the pdf, then have it scaled up into pages to act like a jigsaw.
It works.
I’m looking to get back into the hobby after 15+ years. I have a long wall in my bedroom I plan use and am looking at this layout. I can’t accommodate the 7’ bump out on the right - how hard would it be to modify this so it’s a 12’ shelf layout?
how do i figure out how many feet of track this layout takes to build.
