This weekend is Rochelle Railroad days. June 3-5 Who all is going to be there. I am planning on the 4th myself if I can convice the Wife to go with me since she is my ride.
It is about a 3 block walk for me, I might make it down that way.
Might be something we could make work one of the days. Might have to be Sunday, after church.
I think UP is supposed to be doing something this year.
I wont need to UP 2010 and UP 1988 Will be heading up there today. Leaving Villa Grove IL at 6pm. I’ll be getting to see them at Villa Grove Sitting.
Made it there this afternoon. Pat and I met up with Jay and Linda Eaton.
I brought the trains.
I am awed by this man’s clout with BNSF and the UP.
Not only were trains held outside of Rochelle for several hours awaiting his arrival at the park, but an eastbound UP stack train pulled several blocks past the park, then stopped and backed west out of sight, only to reappear a little later again heading east out of town. Perhaps something was missed on the first pass.[swg]
I was there on the 4th, afternoon and saw 11 trains, more than I have ever seen on a visit to Rochelle!
