Who is your favorite train company?

Please vot[8D]

Kato all the way ,but atlas is a close 2nd. Nobody compares with these 2 in HO scale. Joe.

Athrean by far!! c’mon p2k MSRP $140.00 for an sd50 athearn $104.98 and is way better than p2k. Athearn Best bang for you buck.

Bachmann Spectrum, P2K, and Rivarossi are my favorites. Can’t pick one.

Samhongsa

My experience is limited, but from what I’ve seen in ‘N’ scale I would have to say P2K for the combination of quality AND value. Sure, KATO is better quality, but it also costs twice as much. And in my opinion, it isn’t THAT MUCH better.

P.S. Although I have stayed away from Bachmann locomotives (largely because of comments on this board), I think their rolling stock seems pretty decent. I think at times it becomes popular to “dis” certain companies, whether they are really that bad or not.

Atlas makes the best detailed locos in plastic, far better than P2K, Broadway or even Kato. And with a drive that is equal to Kato’s, that makes Atlas Master locos the best on the market, IMHO. And their rolling stock is as good as, or maybe better than Kadee’s! Atlas strives for the most aulthenic model possible, both in detail and color, and it shows in their superb locos and rolling stock.

Athearn? Athearn Genesis falls short of even LL P2K, and is no where near as good as Atlas Master! I have been disappointed in recent Athearn Genesis and R-T-R products, but not in my Atlas purchases.

Just got 2 more of the Atlas precision box cars (the RI rib-sides) today - great car!!!
And my RI U30C is in the mail … !

rolling stock/kits: Athearn
Locomotives: Proto 2000

although Athearn, Atlas, and Proto 2000 all make equally good locomotives. Roundhouse makes some good kits to. easy for beginners.

my top choices are Athearn, Atlas, Proto 2000 and Roundhouse. thats all i’ve dealt with so far.

Athearn is my favourite.
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, best buy for my buck.
Out of 172 pieces in my collection, 93 of them are Athearn.
Roundhouse, Accurail, Proto & Walthers round out my top 5.

Gordon

Challenger Imports–if I could afford brass!

Kato by far… To many problems with Athearn…

In order of preference.

Overland (Ajin Precision)
Oriental Limited (Samhongsa)
Westside (Katsumi Mokeiten)
Custom Brass
KATO
Atlas
LLP2K
Tenshodo
Athearn Genocide

Today Atlas makes (IMHO) the best HO locos and their RTR cars are tough to beat. I just received my order of U30C and they are beautiful. Smooth, quiet runners.

where is Lima???

OH and Hornby

Based on the choices we’re given, my favorite has got to be Life Like Proto. They’ve provided us HO’ers more quality steam, diesels, freight cars and wheelsets than any other single manufacturer. Between their Proto 1000 and 2000 lines, I believe I’ve got more Life Like stuff than any other manufacturer’s (I think the next largest is Branchline).

Of course, I’m partial to Bowser too, since I enjoy the challenge of building and superdetailing steam kits!

Sorry, I can’t vote, as none of my two favorite manufacturers are shown above…[:)][:)]

I voted for Kato for quality, but I wi***hey made more steam engines instead of only diesels in HO scale. Since I really prefer steam, I usually buy Bachmann Spectrum, Rivarossi, Broadway Limited, Athearn Genesis, or IHC. Diesels are really a toss-up between Kato and Atlas.

Same here,

It’s a conspiracy…[;)][:o)][}:)][:D][:D]

My top HO scale mfg is BEMO http://www.bemo-modellbahn.de/
Super detail, super performance, very large selection. AND lots of stuff from my favourite proto www.rhb.ch

My second choice would be ROCO http://www.roco.co.at/ same as above, except the proto is www.sbb.ch
