I live about 2 miles from Stewart’s Hobbies in Downtown Willoughby, Ohio.
I’m a whole 6 miles from Memory Station in Watkinsville, about 8 min. if I get the traffic light green.
Dave: I’ll bet you live the farthest. Nothing like zippin in to a nearby hobby shop & purchasing something & then the “I can’t wait to get it on the layout drive home” !! I live 30 miles each way to a train store, but just a few more miles is Stewarts Hobby shop & plus I always go when I know Tom ( Spankybird ) will be there too! I think in all my years of visiting hobby shops, it’s always just as much fun to see who else may be there then also, & I like to support your local HS, also, to try & be sure they will always be there. Now I’m getting the HEEBEE-JEEBEES for the next train show coming up next Sunday in Medina! Boy, 150 miles to one, and look at the cost of gas! Well, thanks, John

About 70 miles (an hour drive) from Jamestown to Hamburg, NY. Artcraft Toy Trains is a great O Gauge store. The folks are knowledgable, friendly and have pretty good prices. I figure that as long as I had to drive that far it makes no sense coming home empty handed!

Three rail Columbus - John & Betty’s, The Blue Cabose, MS Trains,Hobbyland, The Train Station
Lancaster, Ohio - The Smokestake Hobby Shop (my favorite)
All of these stores are less than 45 minutes away.
Davis Trains is probably the best in Southern Ohio. Glenn’s in Akron is packed floor to ceiling with product. Watts over near Indianapolis is probably the best for G Scale mail order.

Not too far and quite a few 3 rail stores in the area. About 6 miles to Ted’s, 15 miles to Gladieux Hardware, 8 miles to Rider’s and Hobby Lobby, and about 12 miles to Hobbytown. I think that’s everybody???
Buckeye I really like Blue Caboose and The Train Station. Those are about 150 miles for me…but I have been known to drive to Columbus just to go to those two stores! Where is Davis Trains???

Davis Trains is in Milford. Whenever I’m visiting family in No. Ky and So. Oh it is one of my MUST VISIT locations. [^]
About a 10 or 15 minute drive, depending on traffic, to the Trading Post train shop on Pearl in Old Brooklyn. Maybe 20 minutes or so to Depot Trains on W 130, and about 20 to 25 minutes to Warrens in Fairviewpark.
About 70 miles to Oak Mountain Hobbies in Pelham.
About 90 miles to Homewood Hobbies in Birmingham.
Unfortunately, two of the best train stores I ever visited closed up recently, both within 15 miles.
7 miles from Miss Edna’s [Todd’s Train Depot] and about 18 miles from Tom’s in Cary NC [the high $$$$ place].
About 12 miles from Hobby Warehouse,and around 20 miles from the Whistle Stop in Pasadena.
The closest to me is Red Line Hobby in Regina, which is about 150 miles away. They have a VERY small selection of O gauge stuff.
Underworld, I’m glad you mentioned Gladieux Hardware. I’ve been there and they have a great selection of trains and a neat layout. Of course they have every tool and material to build anything. [:)] They are located east of Toledo and just south of the lake.
The Blue Caboose is a good store and sometimes you can find some real good deals. The Train Station caters to more of the HO and N scale crowd. Do you know about John and Betty’s in Galena, Ohio, just north of Westerville? MTH and Atlas products. MS trains is on the west side of Columbus.
Davis Trains, the center of the model train universe in SW Ohio is in Milford, Ohio. Milford is on the eastern side of Cincinnati, just inside the outer belt. The store is downtown on the main street through town. It used to be called Davis Electronics because they repaired TVs, Stereos, and other electronics products. Jim Barret hangs around there, too. Electronically they are tops in my book. They know what works and what doesn’t when hooking up TMCC and MTH.
If you get to Lancaster, Ohio, stop at the Smokestack Hobby Shop. You won’t be disappointed. The owner is a great guy, but one of his helpers acts like jerk.
Another good store in Ohio is at Martin’s Ferry. They are a BEEP dealer. The little store at Sugar Creek is nice, too and the grandmother that runs the store knows her trains.

I live reasonably close to several decent stores, but the good news is that my sister lives about five miles from Charlie Ro, my grandmother lives three miles from Caboose Hobbies, and my parents live about an hour from Norm’s O Scale. That makes Christmas a happy holiday indeed!
I live North of Burlington, VT. The closest is over in New Hamster…a three hour drive!
I’ve never been there. Too much bad weather over the Green Mountains. I do eBay, mailorder, or more often wait until vacation and buy on the road.

The closest places to Warren Oh. is Train America Studios; the place thats talked about all the time in CTT. It’s about 30 or 40 minutes away from me, in Boardman. South of Boardman , in Lima Oh. - there’s “Brothers Trains”, and its an extra 10 min. driving. Just south of “brothers”, there’s a hardware store that also has a whole section for trains. - Inside a real caboose.
