Who makes Them

What company makes a good Union Pacific SD70M, I think Overland or Blueline or something along those lines make them, but there out of my budget. But for now all I want is one to run in DC.

For the future whats a decoder that really sounds exactly like an SD70M. If there isnt one, I could try programming the sounds myself ( if someone tells me what program its is).

I was looking there but it said there all discontinued. I guess I could search ebay and try to find them.

Kato made some in HO, not UP, but painting an undec might be a safe backup

I havn’t seen any with sound decoders… But i checked ebay and i found this stripped down one

If you have a lot of money, I wouldn’t doubt it if Tower 55 had some nice ones.

BEWARE of athearn SD70s. The first round had warped trucks. A guy in my club has 5 of them and they were all a pain in the butt to fix up.

Another guy in the club has a newer SD70 and it’s the first of the newer Athearns that I think is up to par with others like Atlas or Kato. I find the Blue line diesels too light. I ran one of the new C30s with 2 of my Atlas C30s and the Blueline was kinda just along for the ride. -just my experience.
