Who makes these types of cars?

I was going through and adding some weight to some of the older HO cars I had collected over the years. I wasn’t familiar with these types and they hadn’t come with any boxes.

I have some Athearn reefers that are made like that.

Refrigerator cars are commonly called reefers. Branchline, Accurail, and Athearn all make them. Branchline probably has the most variety and are the most intricate to put together. They do look nice though.

That particular model is a wood side refrigerator car made by Athearn. Athearn used to be about the only game in town for easy to assemble reefers but, as has been noted, there are a number of manufacturers who make some nice ones now. The nicest I’ve seen are the RTR models from Trix. I’m kind of partial to refrigerator cars - I’ve got about 50 of them now. [:)]
