Does anyone know who makes these. Man what a paint job. I think it’s a SD90/43MAC.

Rail Power is the only one that comes to mind at the moment.

That’s an EMD SD70ACe. That particular engine is the Rio Grande paint job that is part of Union Pacific’s heritage fleet. A SD70ACe was painted in the colors of the 6 major railroads that they bought (CNW, SP, MP, WP, MKT, & DRGW). Overland’s Tower 55 will produce models of each engine during this year sometime.

It does look A LOT like a “Phase II” SD90MAC-H, but it’s not. It’s a SD70ACe. EMD’s new Teir 2 AC unit. As far as I know no company currently makes a model of it in any scale. However if anyone does make it, it will most likely be Overland. They make a model of the new GE ES series locos. so it would make since that they would make this one also.

It might be possible to cobble one together from RPP SD90 shells plus some aftermarket detail parts - if you can find one.

Kato makes a SD43/90MAc, but the picture shows a SD70Ace. Tower 55 is coming out with a plastic version that is a few months away and a brass version that is overpriced at about $990 each. The brass version does not have sound, but if you pay for it, you probably can’r afford sound anymore.

Does anyone know about this in N scale? Some of us don’t have any use for a Horribly Oversized model.

Well, for all you N scale collectors, you can get the entire collection of all 6 of the SD70ACe Heritage paint scheme engines in a wood presentation box for just under $3600. They are by Overland models, so my guess would be the HO are also by Overland.

So, I guess I will have to get one of these, or else I can get a complete DCC system and 2 other locos. Hmmm, have to think about that one a while…

The loco is EMD’s SD70Ace and only Tower 55 makes them in HO scale and currently Tower 55 hasn’t indicated if they will release the models in UP’s Heritage schemes. The only one announced is UP 4141 Air Force

Or will, soon. Yours for a mere $950. Tower55 has some but not the D&RGW Heritage scheme. Overland also has the CNW and SP Heritage schemes.

Haha…Well no one makes any SD70ACEs yet, but once they do, I’m sure Emperor Trains (www.emperortrains.com) will come out with a scheme.
