If you model Z scale, please let us know your experiences, pro or con. I’m especially interested in feedback regarding the performance of the Marklin and MT engines.
Thanks!
Doug

My coworker does. He’s got a new Marklin set coming in the mail soon…I’ll post his thoughts and impressions when he gets it, if you like.
Z scale is too small layout !!! too much money !!!
Yes, I’m modelling Z scale. Expensive? Yes, if you consider only the price of a loco for example. But if you consider the whole hobby, Z scale allows you an empire in a single room instead of a barn or an aviation hangar for the same empire in HO, so in definitive that’s very cheaper! [:)]
I’ve been contemplating getting into Z. Marklin makes a great set that includes two american prototype trains. One is a steamer (a mikado i believe) with a freight consist, the other a streamliner passenger train. Included are 4 turnouts, 2 transformers and enough track for a double oval w/passing siding. Price around $600.00.
Somewhat expensive but add afew buildings and scenery and you’ve got a nice layout.
Last months MR sparked my interest with the Z gauge article. If you want to check out this set go to www.euro-trains.com.
