Just as I was starting to congratulate myself on the electrical reliability of my layout, all this happened in one week:
- two momentary switch machines and a panel indicator associated with them stopped working, apparently due to a capacitor problem on the home built pulse circuit.
- my computer refuses to boot with a “Fan trouble” message, clearly due to the dusty basement
- one of the two 12v power supplies that power 13 tortoises on the “analog controlled” section died with (I hope) an internal short.
I don’t think these are related, except perhaps the same gremlin did them. Oh well, starting from zero to analog control panels to full detection, signalling and panels … I had a pretty good run without trouble.
