MY NORTHERN CAME!!! It runs nicly and has smooth pistons. i had to fix the tender the wheels were messed up other than that it is a great engine and is the largest loco i have.
I now have six total engines

There’s another thread running called “Unexpected discoveries in this hobby,” but this answer is more appropriate here. I’ve re-discovered the joy of being a kid with trains. When I ran my first train after installing the DCC system, suddenly it all came back, and I was 12 again. (My drivers license says I’m 60. Hah. Fooled them.)
Another one of those childlike joys has been the UPS truck. Now, when I know something’s being shipped, I get all psyched up over packages at the door. Sure, it’s a bummer when it turns out to be my wife’s dietary supplements, but when the return address is Discount Trains Online or Trainworld, then my eyes really light up.
May your Northern bring you many years of enjoyment.

Too bad if it is truly broken. Still, I am sure you can return it. If you can save for a few months and get a Spectrum Mountain, or maybe a BLI Niagara from Trainworld or somewhere that sells 'em cheap, it would alomst certainly be a much better experience for you.

i think i am gonna save my money for a athearn rs3 rio grande version and buy a plug in decoder and do whatever you do to get it in there and have it.

I clean out pools for the summer, pick up leaves in the fall,shovel snow in the winter, and some times water gardens in the spring but i hate when my friends see me talking to a rose.

They cant grow if you dont talk to them lol. I am very impressed with your work ethic. The odd jobs you do may pay well but you still have to save, sorry about your engine, usually if you tell the seller the situation they will help you out.

Yes, send it or them back to Bachmann in Philly and they will help you out.
They are very good about that. Sometimes a little slow, they say they have a 60 day turn around but I have waited close to four months. But, they do a good job. and I am pleased.

used locos purchased off ebay are not covered under the bachmann warrentee.
they are iuf you have the wareentee paper. LOL ebay can never trick me yeah i got a warrentee paer for the loco so that 21 bucks was a steal.
I got it working again. Put enugh throttle in the oppasite directon it was traveling and it moves. then put it in the direction you want to go a it moves.
