I’m likely going to join MTH club, as a helpful forum member showed me the nice club car and website space you get for $50 per year. Heck, a freight car costs more than that alone. I’m likely to join soon but was curious of your opinions of that and other toy train company clubs.
Do others have similar incentives that have enticed you?

I was a member of the Lionel RRer club; I dropped it for lack of value when the rates went up. I didn’t want the club cars, and the magazine wasn’t worth $15/year.
I belong to both the K-Line and MTH club since ‘97 or so.
The K-Line club started at $45.00 per year and included the KennyCopper SW15 engine.
Then for the next few years it was two cars per year plus mailing you their catalogs and newsletters.
Now they have great deals on different engines at an extra price or the standard membership with one item. Last year it was the operating billboard and dinner.
They also provide discounts to members direct ordering on the web.
Membership has gone up from $45.00 to $60.00 per year
MTH membership is $50.00 per year for RailKing membership and includes:
I’ve been a member of the MTH club since its inception and think its membership is the best value of all the clubs. I used to be a member of the Lionel Club but have not renewed my membership from the time they went into the HO market again. I was miffed that I joined the Lionel Club and received a bunch of propaganda on their ill-fated HO excursion.
I was a member of the K-Line club when my wife signed me up as a member, as part of my birthday present. Subsequently, I was going to renew my membership but they don’t accept American Express, so the heck with them. I’m also a member of the Williams Club.

I was a charter member of the MTH Railking club until they brought out their club engine in MTH purple and charged full retail ! [V] (Dang, when I pre order an item I get a discount!) I thought it was kinda like bitting the dedicated consumers hand! I may join again only because I like their products.(They still send me their catalogs in the mail.)
I am happily a member of the K-line CC. because as eZAK said “The best deal of all the clubs.” Wonderful premiums! I’m looking forward to the Alaska SD70MAC Passenger cars and caboose. They look beautiful. I’ve never been disapointed with K-line!

Marklin Club. I’ve been a member for many years. I like their news letter and now recieve their magazine in English as part of the membership. Club cars and the Loco’s available to member’s are “Pricey!” I’m very disappointed that Marklin has concentrated on scale offerings and has virtually forgotten the HO as a toy aspect of their old “metal” (Hobby) line. [2c] It’s sad.
I haven’t joined the Lionel CC, but should. I’ve been buying more Lionel over the past couple of years.
Main reason I join? To get their lastest catalogs in the mail! I’m still a kid! [:P]

I do believe MTH, Lionel, and K-line’s club magazines are all, very, very weak.
Not any currently, although I would like to join the K-line club again before the year’s out. I was a member of K-line’s the year that they did the Trainmaster.
I joined K-Line’s club this year only because of sentimental reasons. The SD70AC offered this year as CSXT 724 was the first locomotive I ever ran as an engineer. In an ironic twist of fate it was also the 724’s first trip as well. If you think new car smell is nice, it isn’t anything compared to new locomotive smell.
