Why did you choose the member name you did ?...

The day I joined, I had spent a part of the day laying track on my layout and that was about the only thing on my mind at the time. At first, I really didn’t think the system would accept it because I figured the chances of another member with that name were pretty high, but then when I got the reply back and it said welcome Tracklayer, I was like okay, I can deal with that… At least it was railroad related and better than a lot of the other names I was going to use if I’d had to.

Tracklayer

i’m a retired signal maintainer. retired 6 years ago after 31 years with the nycta.

at the time I signed up I was a student in college. And I am an avid fan and modeler of the Great Northern during their “Big Sky Blue” era (1967-70) And I needed to change from my former Union Pacific affiliated name because I could no longer be support or otherwise claim to aknowledge an organization that has no honor. My former name was Grayhound Challenger.

James

Like you lads…mine name is modeled after, what model railroad I pursue. Dragon River Steel Corp {DRSC}. I suppose, I could have named myself, “NS-railfan”,but that name is only used by 1000 others. So not ,to be like all the rest…Dragonriversteel.

Patrick

Tangerine-Jack - my code name in the Field Artillery. It is a spin off of the pirate “Calico Jack” who was a mediocre pirate, but became famous for having the only two known female pirates on his crew, Mary Reed and Anne Bonney. I always had an orange motorcycle, so hence “Tangerine”. The fact that my gun always flew an orange “Jack” with crossed spoons, gave me the last part of the name. (The army won’t allow a black Jack, but orange is OK- hey, it’s the government!)

It’s stuck ever since. Well, could be worse I suppose…

Andre Chapelon was one of the premier steam locomotive designers of the 20th Century.

I chose the name because I liked it and admire Chapelon’s work.

Andre

Howard’s Music Services. My (non-profit) company. (Not supposed to be non-profit, it just is… LOL)

This has been my nickname for a long time everywhere. I am one. I also model the railroad.

If you are English, you will know what 1966 means! It would be quite a pleasure to change this to 2006 following this Summer in Germany.

Because that is Who I am and Where I am.

Doug, in Utah

It’s the name of my car, I have a personalized plate too. She is an 03 Mustang GT in Zinc Yellow, dropped 1.5" with 17X9 Cobra rims, and she is one Phat Pony.

Glenn

I like Illinois Central and I model Illinois Central. ICMR = Illinois Central Model Railroader.

Victor

Happy Railroading.[swg][swg]

JB . . . my intitials, CA my occupation . . .

If I was south of the 49th would be JBCPA

I like Union pacific and the big boy locomotive #4018 is 20 minutes away
It would be better in my backyard but I haven’t won the lottery yet.

I’m a drummer, I’m a modeler, and I go trainwatching.

It’s the name of the freelance model railroad that was my first leap into Japanese prototype modeling. The full name, Tomikawa Tani Tetsudo, translates to English as Richstream Valley Railroad.

While my major emphasis is now on the operations of the prototype Japan National Railways, the TTT will have a lot more visible length of run than the JNR once my under-construction layout reaches operability.

A. location
B. the company I work for
C. occupation

It’s the name I was given when I was born. (It’s much easier to remember that way.)

-Ed

My member name has nothing to do with trains or modeling. I am using the same member name I use in my Corvette Club web site.

Dave
