Instead of cancelling trains completely why not run them tri weeky.

Since you asked:

  1. Inadequate funding.
  2. Inadequate equipment.
  3. Inadequate passenger patronage
  4. Inadequate state funding
  5. Expensive labor agreements
  6. Uncooperative freight railroads
  7. Congested main lines
  8. Inability to meet demand due to poor scheduling
  9. Inadequate number of trains (triweekly loses a lot of passengers)

I’m sure there are other reasons as well…

Money and the lack of money.

…Three Rivers: Money, money, money…Article I read indicated the patronage was good. Without enough money though none of the problems listed above can be solved.
I think Mr. Gunn should bring the whole problem to a head and shut it ALL down…Then with the problems it creates someone will either say we can get along without it…[NEC too], or find a way to properly fund the system. Call the Administration’s bluff…once and for all. It can’t be properly run without adequate funds
