wiad nr. 29 flussdampfer

recently was given this boat was told it was ho scale but it looks to me to be n scale does anyone have an idea about this also when it was made

If you know the dimensions of the prototype then all one needs to do is measure the model in inches, then convert this to N Scale dimensions to see if it fits within the prototype measurements. N scale is 1/160 of full scale.

Or you may have an N scale ruler available to makes things a little easier, or put it next to a 40’ N Scale box car to see the relative sizes of the two but you will need some information about the prototype.

I have zero idea what a wiad nr. 29 flussdampfer is…???

Yep, I have no idea what this is. Post a picture.

Flussdampfer - my German is rusty, but it sounds like “river steamship” ?

A little more googling solved the mystery.

Wiad (Willy Ade) was a small German manufacturer of model things - including some N scale ships/boats. The model referred to must be the bottom one on this page: http://www.spur-n.com/wiad.html

Some background on the company: http://thecentralstation.myfreeforum.org/archive/european-n-scale__o_t__t_3328.html and http://www.adewagen.de/ueber_ade.html (use google translate on the latter, if you don’t read German).
