Looking for a theme to post of some recent stuff… here are three shots of modern (ish) diesels going by some old LA County railroad remnants.
First is a baretable movement shoving west at Monrovia, CA past the Santa Fe depot there. Unless I somehow luck out, I think that there’s a good chance I won’t get another shot of a heavy rail train here, with construction starting on the light rail line that will use this ROW.

Second is of a BNSF Christmas train heading under the Santa Fe cantilever signal bridge in Glendora, CA.

Third (and last) is Amtrak’s San Luis Obispo to LA Pacific Surfliner passing a Southern Pacific target signal in Lake Balboa, CA.

Thanks for looking, and corrections are welcome.
In the 1st, that’s a nice composition with the train just leaving the curve - and the Warbonnet well-lit outside of the tree shadows, and the contrast of all that color with the white station - the 1st comment already noted the shadows of the letters.
The 2nd one is nice use of the signal bridge as a prop - it frames the train nicely. Again, good use of a curve.
I like the 3rd one best. The train isn’t bad - pretty close if it was moving fast, eh ? - but that target signal right at a road crossing and down that low is unique and just great for getting photos of all the different aspects, which show up really well even when front-lit as this one is. I’d be there quite a few times, I think . . .
Thanks for sharing, once again.

Paul,
Thanks for the comments…
Just to reassure you on the third shot, even though that train was moving at a good clip, I was quite safe as it’s a going away shot (the engine is pushing). I was about four good strides further away as the train passed, and then moved up for my shot.
