will a lionel zw 250 run a standard american flyer train?

Hi to all you train experts. Please Help. I’m selling a lionel zw transformer and someone wants to know if it will run his standard American Flyer. I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to trains and can’t find anything when I google it. Thanks in advance

Yes, it will. It can provide a little more voltage than an American Flyer train needs (21 versus 15 volts); but that’s no problem. You might tell him that the U terminals correspond to what American Flyer called the “base” terminal.

Yes, unless there is DC written after the engine number. example 342 DC.

Run my Flyer all the time with my ZW 275.
