Are they ever going to Run N&W 611 ever again on an Excursion? Also, What’s going with her in Roanoke, because look here http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?road_number=NW%20611. Is she going to be in movie or something?
It really bugs me when people dont take the time to look things over they comment on. Read the captions of the pictures and you will find it was nothing more than a photography charter, indoors.
Well, I’m Sorry! But I just actually noticed that now. I really didn’t know at first what the situation was all about. But you noticed it before I did. I don’t want to start an argument. I just obvisously didn’t see that.
…From all I’ve read and saw discussed on here in recent times, my guess from all of that would be: Not on it’s own power.
We have been fortunate to have had her here in Muncie back in the 80’s in all her glory quite a few times. My bet is, never again.
Not gonna happen! When NS lost interest in their Steam Program and consigned both 611 and 1218 to the Virginia Transportation Museum, that pretty much sealed their fate.
Agree…and to my dissappointment, the {1218}, was here in Muncie too back in the 80’s, and for some reason I didn’t get to see it…That was really a bummer.
Had 2 steamers in here back in that era at the same time…Pretty sure it was 765 and 587…Those I did see. 765 was down here several times.
That site you linked us to would not let me back up to this page.
I sometimes get that at some websites, and find that a quick double-click will often do it, even two double-clicks in quick succession.

Recently there were strong rumors about this on railfan web sites, primarily in the east. I decided to contact an NS regional public relations director about this on-going rumor. He was kind enough to reply and stated he knew of no such project and added this many times is the result of wishful thinking.
