Will P2K GP9II or III shell fit P2K GP9I (QSI) chassis?

Hey gang-

Does anyone know if the earlier P2K HO GP9 phase II or phase III shell will fit on the recent P2K QSI sound-equipped GP9 phase I chassis without any cutting, filing, etc? Please note that I’m running a DC (not DCC) layout so I can’t just drop a decoder and sound chip and speaker into an existing GP9.

Thanks a bunch!

Yes the P2K GP9 shells are completely interchangeable. I have done this myself
as well as kitbashing a GN-style GP20 from GP9 and 20 parts.

I’m having trouble fitting a 2PK GP9 on a 2PK GP9 QSI chassis. I already modified the rear number board for the rear QSI diode to fit into the number board. With the shell on, I cannot screw in the 2 small screws, by the fuel tank, through the shell into the chassis. Also, I cannot get the coupler boxes to fit. Any suggestion.

I have some of the original run phase 3 shells and the light tube needed to be modified. About 10 minutes of work. Also the front weights are different.
