At 20:35 EDT on Friday, August 4, the westbound "Canadian scheduled to depart Toronto on 8/2 is 18 hours and 49 minutes late approaching the Saskatchewan-Alberta provencial line. In fairness, it left Toronto about twelve hours late due to delays to the trainset on the inbound trip. [:$].
Shouldn’t matter about the schedule as train travel in Canada is only for the wealthy, a trip across Canadaland will set you back a wad of money, no young people travelling by train in this country eh?
FUll Fare on the Canadian can be expensive but I’ve travelled several time and have never paid full fare…just be flexible with dates and there’s always deals.
Sign up for ‘Discount Tuesday’ and you’ll get an email each week with more deals.
And although the Canadian has ben running very late…It is the exception. There are numerous other trains… on several routes in the Quebec City to Windsor Corridor and also the Ocean to Halifax that generally run on time.
