Will Trainsim2 have another US line?

Does anybody know if Trainsimulator 2 will have another US line? Also when will Trainsim2 be out

No idea when it comes out, but MSTS2 will have PRR steam in the '40 sover Horshoe Curve, and I have heard it will also have a Norfolk Southern route as well. They now have screenshots and suff on the website http://microsoftgamesinsider.com/TrainSimulator/NewsAndFeatures/default.htm

It’s to be released in the UK in March. I know I read somewhere the target date for the US is February, but I can’t remember or find where I saw that. I already searched Amazon.com. You’ll just have to do more internet searches.

FOUND IT!

TARGET PRE-RELEASE DATE: 2/2/2004

(Of course I’m probably jinking this by posting it. The game was supposed to have been released last fall [banghead] [sigh] )

Thanks, I remember last spring they where saying September. I’m a still bit worried because Microsoft took Trainsim2 of thier coming soon list on their site.

The latest is MS it totally rewriting it - 2005 date.

The new release date is 06/01/2004.
Which means we get to enjoy TS2 by about Fall of 2026.
And yes, it will have some modern American routes. Plus, you will be able to incorporate the old routes into the game.

Thanks! Since Microsoft is saying it will be releasing TS2 in 2004/2005 that means it will unfortunately probably be out in 2006.

And of course, Micro$loth wllnot make a version for Macs for have it out in dual version. I’d buy it in a minute. I love my Mac more than I do trains amd I won’t get a Wintel machine just for games. [:(]

I wouldn’t Have anything that Apple puts out, They coppied IBM with the “POINT & CLICK” System,
Yeah that’s right IBM had it first and they let MicroSoft run With it. And poor (you know who cried
and said Microsoft stole it from them.) If you want proof, I have the IBM model number and the name
of the person who was there when The first “Point & Click System” was a mouse made of two buttons in a
wooden box with a wire between it and the computer. Apple didn’t even exist at the time.
No offense, but I would not own an orcherd grown computer except in TIVO units.
Not That the Apple Mac isn’t a great computer, but the omly Mac I Would own is the Hi end Mcintosh HiFi
Amplifiers and have nothing to do with Apple or any other computer companies whatsoever.
talk to you later

I’ve been involved in the simulation community, from flight simulator to train simulators, for about six years now. My point of view is that Microsoft is dropping the MSTS 2 or is very unsure where to take it. One problem they have is Microsoft is a very closed organization and they did not develop the relationships with railroads they should have. Auran has developed a relationship with Union Pacific and many other railraods and I believe has also made contracts to provide them with professional simulation software within the next couple of years. Microsoft has just found out that there is some real competition out there.

Since I finally got my TS1 to operate as it should I am not yet in a hurry for version 2. I was attempting to run Ver 1 on a Toshiba Tecra 8100 vintage 2000. It had 8MB of Video Ram and ran the program in fits and starts. Sometimes the engines would have square wheels running around. There were times when tunnels would only half draw and on some like the Acela HH8, it would crash constantly. I tried everything including adding more RAM but nothing worked until that machine blew up and I bought a new Toshiba Satellite p15-S409 with wide screen and 32MB of separate video ram. All of a sudden the programs has details I never saw before like piano playing in the palor car of the Orient Express, and car and truck traffic on all of the highways and byways. What a difference, and no crashes. Frankly, without a bigger faster machine, the program should have said, “Do not attempt to run this program or you’ll be sorry!”

One problem. The wide-screen is forcing the bitmaps to distort so that everything is wider than it should be. Does anyone know a way to force the display to the normal 4:3 aspect ratio instead of the 16:9 of the wide screen?

I don’t know what the heck is going on with kirsty, ruutu37 and cossiekid. Just look at the antics in the topic “chat about anything”:

http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15161

I think they were searching for a place on the Internet to cause trouble for free. The only place where they posted something relating to trains was the
“favorite railroad company” topic.

ahem bad news… Microsoft… [V] [V] cannceled… [V] MSTS2 [V] [V]
