I am interested in buying a Williams Aneversery set as a Christmas Present for myself.
But, are they reliable? If I am going to buy myself a Christmas present, I’d like it to work nicely.
Williams is one of the most reliable conventional train sets made. You will hear many on this forum sing the praises of Williams. My Williams AMTRAK engine will pull stumps out the ground it is so powerful. None of my Lionels or K-Lines can pull as many cars up a grade.
In fact, a William Train Set would make me a good Christmas present, too.
I think someone said that Williams has a lifetime gaurantee. Also you can join there club for 25 dollars & get a free car or caboose, then you get on their mailing list for other special offers. Thanks, John

Williams is a great company. Quick delivery and if something is wrong. They fix it fast!
The quality is much of what I’d expect or exceeds that of a 1950’s era Lionel!
(My personal opinion) I plan on running my S2 turbine and passenger cars under the Xmas tree this year. A Williams Aniversary set for Xmas? A good reason to get excited!

By all means buy Williams. In my opinion the best buy on the market.
I have several Williams… For a retro conventional dinosaur like myself they are the best value in choo-choo’s out there…
I have the UP yellow and gray anniversary set including the 2-car add-on set, and I’m very pleased with it. Although the smaller “classic” Alcos have a single motor, I don’t consider that a deficit because the powered unit has no problem pulling the dummy unit and 5 cars. And this set is beautiful! When I got it I liked it so much that I immediately bought the PRR Congressional set, and it’s a beauty too. I’ve been a Williams owner ever since I got back into O gauge in late 1998, and I’ve never had a Williams product I wasn’t happy with. Reliable? The only problem I’ve ever had with a Williams product was with the window “glass” coming loose in my full-scale Alcos, and that was easy to fix. I’ve had no mechanical or electrical problems with any of their products.
