Windsor Locks New Haven station restoration to begin

If Amtrak sold the station to the town, why would the town then need permission from Amtrak to do ANYTHING with it?

Historic Preservation:

TRAINS’ Preservation Award
NRHS Heritage Grant Program
Tom E. Dailey Foundation
Charity Search Engines
Grocery Stores Fundraisers

it would be nice to see the station as is.

Suspect the ground under the station belongs to Amtrak and also it is in fairly close proximity to the active tracks? Hope “preservation” keeps open the possibility of restoration as a passenger train stop.

Michael, my guess would be that the building is still next to Amtrak’s tracks and probably still on its right-of-way. So Amtrak would need to OK any plans to be sure they don’t cause problems or hazards.
