Christmas is almost here! I know i love to snach great pictures of trains when its snowing. I have a great picture from Metra in a heavy snow fall. Whats your favorite train photo caught in the snow. (pictures would be great)
I shot one of a C&NW commuter train after a heavy april snow storm at the arlington park station in 1978 or so with engine running forward going into chicago. This was the train that ran to lake geneva and was ran engine forward as opposed to cab car forward for snow plowing reasons on the remote branch line that spurs off at crystal lake. The locomotive was 5030-A (518) and I suppose that was my favorite.
Heres a winter shot for ya, Taken during the first REAL snow of the season.

Usually you can see the houses and pipeyard about 50 yards behind it, Caught it jjust as the storm rolled in.
Check out the one that’s currently on my homepage! I also had late-day lighting conditions to deal with, not to mention treacherous roads… But it was worth catching this one in its LTEX paint!
