Winter scenes

Heres a picture of a couple of workmen clearing the switch in front of the Romeoville station in 2004 . Alot has changed since this picture was taken a year ago . The double track main that started at this switch now breaks off into two seperate lines (even if it is for only about 25 feet) and gives the line a lot more scenery . Last year we added a water feature that is crossed by one of the lines over a small low bridge and the river is fed by a waterfall. We added 250 Alberta spruce trees and a tunnel last year plus a whole lot of ground covers and buildings . Hopefully ill be able to post a lot more new pictures that show all the progress we made soon . I switched one of my dash-9’s to battery power and have been able to use the snow plow this winter . That is really fun to watch working out there . Anyway just thought i’d share . I’m going back out to run some stuff before the superbowl comes on , later .

Beautiful!!

Great pics! 250 trees??? Really??? Wow…that sure is ambitious. Enjoy the snow. Later eh…Brian.

Yeah 250 dwarf alberta spruces. We cleaned out the local Home Depots and Menards . They were going for $3.33 each so we would get around 20 or so each visit and then go home and plant them . Needless to say come springtime we will have a little pruining to do . We also have a whole nuther 1/3 of the railroad to do this year same way . Can’t wait to get going on that . You should see it at night in the summer when we are kicking back having a few brews and the lites in the buildings are on and all those trees and then in the distance the headlite of a oncoming train aproaches . Now thats living !!

I’ll say. can’t wait for the snow to go here. 250 trees would mean a LOT of wrapping for Winter. Otherwise they would not survive the deep freeze! Looking forward to doing some planting here this year. All the best! Later eh…Brian.
