With Smoke?

I am just getting into model railroading again since my wife bought me a Bachmann train set for Christmas and the information that came with it is a little lacking. For one there is no real info on how to maintain it. Second, it says that it is a USRA 0-6-0 and Vanderbilt Tender, Union Pacific “Greyhound”, with smoke. The last part piques my curiosity because I would love to have real smoke. The problem is that I don’t think that it has a smoke unit in it. I have not taken it apart to verify this but if I look down the stack it looks like I am seeing straight down into the chasis. Does the ‘with smoke’ part mean that it is smoke ready and I have to buy a unit for it?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Your actually on the wrong forum for this type of question. You will be better answers on the Model Railroader forum. This forum deals mainly with the older real railroads and such.

That said did you look in the box for some smoke fluid? This is a type of oil that smokes at a fairly low tempature. If you can find it drop one or two drops down the stack and see if it starts to smoke as you runt the engine. Don’t go over board on the amount of fluid you put in, a little goes a long way.
