Just got and tried, worked like WOW. Just wondered if there are any problems long term to paint, etc.
OK, I get it, had to look it up, Dust Dabber. (not dus)
I just looked at the instructions, so does this as a roll ? inside the jar? and you tear off what you want?
Mike.
Yep, sorry for the missing letter, its fixed now.
You probably saw the ‘instructional’ video on Woodland Scenics site, then. To me, it uses the principal of an outward facing loop of sticky tape to pick up dust and hairs from surfaces, although with low tack so you don’t damage or mar the surfaces. Not sure what level of tackiness it has though - would it pick up n-scale figures? HO scale figures? G scale…er… gauge figures? Meddling neighborhood kids? Also, I guess it’s a one shot use of the wad (blob?) you pull from the jar, and then dump the used wad, not really reusable.
There is a way to clean that stuff to enable reuse, I just don’t recall it off hand. It came out of either automotive or computer electronics (or both independently arrived at it). Those both have places you want to clean that are tricky to get into, so an amorphous blob of sticky goo was the way to go.
