I have tried and tried to get the scenic cement to come out of the scenic sprayer in a nice fine mist but all I get is a huge blob of a spray that knocks eveything out of its way. It also drips all over and very rarely goes where I aim it! I have tried all of the settings on the sprayer but with no luck. Does anyone know how to get it to come out in a nice mist? Should I buy a commercial sprayer like janitors use?
Run some hot soapy water through then try again. Perhaps your mixture is too thick. You could raid your wifes cleaning supplies and find a sprayer that works well.
I’ve had much better luck with the spray bottles from Scenic Express than the Woodland Scenics bottles. I’ve started using the Woodland Scenics bottles for wet water only, which works fine. The scenic express bottles seem to spray a finer mist and I find them easier to clean thoroughly.
Have fun,

Gord the answer to the question is to thin down the glue to about 75%water 25% glue and a few drops of dish detergent. I discovered this myself and have read similar posts in the forums reinforcing this. The problem is not the sprayer it is the fact the glue is to thick. And to pre-empt the next question, yes a 75/25 mix is more than adequate to hold scenery and ballast, I used it on my layout, maybe even thinner and my layout is HO stored vertically when not in use, nothing has moved yet, or fallen off.
Take care and have fun.
Karl.
Same problem here, I picked up some small mist sprayers at Hobby Lobby for less than a buck each and they produce a finer mist… Also like the others said thin the cement a bit with water
If it’s not too big a project, you might try using a medicine dropper. You’ll get a lot more control over the area you’re wanting to cover and you won’t have nearly as much mess. Caution: don’t use an eye dropper. Go to Wal Greens, or something similar, and get a medicine dropper. They’e cheap and wll worth the money.
