Work on the Union Pacific 844?

Does anyone out there know the status of the work being done on UP 844?

I understand it has a crack in the crown sheet.I also heard that Steve lee who heads up the steam program,has found soneone who can effect a repair.I will be glad to post anything I can find or hear regarding its return to service.

844 is getting a new firebox, crown sheet and tubes. Firebox is being fabricated in Portland and Steve Lee is going there next month to see final assembly. Info from Trainorders.com steam board last week posting.
