[?][:)][:)] Is there any people here on this fourm running live cantenary on their layouts? It does’nt seem to be very popular in the toy train fourm. I have used it on my layout when I was into HO, but now I have changed into 0 gauge and their seems to be a lack of response this question. FG
Hi felixg
I for one don’t know of an “O” gauge catenary mast and wire producer
which might or might not explain that.
I do however know of a G maker of catenary masts and wire that can feed an
electric train.
I would not use it on my line the main reason I don’t have a locomotive that could use it.
The second reason the rag doll cat next door would probably take out the mast and wire as my line is in the garden.
If I had an indoor “G” I might think about it, but am not sure I would get it on the grounds of cost you buy the locomotive then for it to look right you have to buy the masts and OH wire.
I just could not justify the cost for limiting where a locomotive could maybe that’s should run.
As I am just as likely to flip the switch that changes it to over head running only.
Having said that I do know of a line that has extensive electrified territory and uses it too increase the operational interest no steam allowed in that area and loco changes on the way in or out of it.

I don’t mate but i would like too, I have a Crocodile that will run off a catenary but funny enough they say MTS will not work on a catenary system or more exact the Crocodile will not work off MTS on a catenary.

Which type of cat are you looking for???

It looks like my only options are model # 101 czech ETS steeple cab or one of Mth’s electric engines that I would have to modify for use to have the pantagraphs working. The next step would be to get is to get a good working overhead wiring system for 0 gauge. Again there is not too many options in picking for what is available on the market today. If things don’t go right, I may just build an HO loop and place it some where above my existing 0 gauge layout. Thank you all for your responses. Felix
