Are any of you using Kato N scale Unitrack? If so, can you give any tips? How difficult is it to disconnect if you decide to modify a plan later on? I am plannig a simple loop with a couple of sidings as a way to ease back out of the armchair. MR Editors seem to like caulk for securing Unitrack to teh baseboard. What are you using?
I use Unitrack on my N scale layouts. I secure it using caulk as well, but you could use regular white glue if you want to. I also solder the rail joints together for maximum electrical contact flow.
I built a mini-modular layout using Kato Unitrack and I simply nailed the track to the subroadbed. You have to drill out the holes first.
You donĀ“t need to solder the joints as they are designed for maximum connectivity. The connection is pretty rigid, but can be disconnected with a gentle pull. Kato Unitrack is also designed to be taken apart and re-assembled, soldering the joints is utter nonsense!
