Andrew: There is no doubt you have strong feelings about this, but could you do me a favor and tone down the language a bit please? I’m not really excited about sharing your language with my 10 and 8 year old. Thank you.
I have not tried it with the new software, but I know one could change the topic title in the old one. By the way, everyone who replied will also need to edit their replies.
If you made another reply to the original title, you would have to go with a title that would sound like something Yosemite Sam would say.
I will leave you a pearl of wisdom from the “rootenest, tootenest, most lowdown varmint this side of the Mississippi”, “Oooooooooh, I hates that wabbit!”
I’d like to find out, too. I cancelled a trip to the unveiling because I read here that it was for UP employees and families ONLY. There was no mention of admitting retired C&NW employees to the ceremony. I wasn’t going to drive 400 miles for nothing. I suppose they were afraid the old C&NW folks were going to steal trade secrets or something.
I don’t know about that one, but for the first two unveiled here in Omaha the morning (until about 1pm) was for UP employees and family only, but then at 1 the whole display was open to the public. I don’t know if that had anything to do with the fact that the 844 was there too. I’m not sure if they’re doing all of the unveilings the same style or if it’s up to the local railroad brass.
You need to realize that this Forum is also viewd by many[ young as well as older] who do not like to see that kind of language in this context. In the future you need to curb your over active juvenile imagination, before you post, and realize that not everybody wants, needs or appreciates your verbal exhuberance![censored][V]
Bergie will need to clean it up now, since it cannot be removed due to having been answered by this as well as other posts [new Forum rules].
Sorry, but you’re getting no relief from me. I don’t care if it is a commonly used “four-letter word,” or an extremely vulgar “four-letter word.” They’re still inappropriate.
Wow- That’s a lot of replys over something as redundant as a supposed ‘bad word.’
I guess it jsut aggrivates me a little, you have to understand, I find public forums like this need to be a complete reflection of the big, sometimes ugly world outside.
You know how many people are going to swear around your kids outside your house, say Grocery shopping or in the mall, or in any location that consits of a number of people?
A lot.
You can’t exactly reprimand them. I’ve seen people try to uphold their own moral values, or insist the opposing party see it their way. It never ends well, and from the the amount of times I’ve witnessed such, The ambulance has had to show up and give one of the two imbosils a rideto the hospital.
It usually works better to ignore language that offends your weltanschauung rather then point it out- I find you end up with less enemies.
Side note: Weltanschauung is a philisophical expression for ‘world view.’ in an expanded dictionary, itmeans a world view that specifically applies to that person, and how they define their moral boundries, political boundries, etc…
