Ok, something a little different to break up the winter gloom and since I dont have any new photos of my layout.
I took this while doing a sailing trip to and around Bimini this last March.

I’ve made some weathering attempts on my British rolling stock fleet
In keeping with the idea of warm weather…
R&R Challenger 2735 rounds the curve past the cool waters of Cuttin Run on a hot summer day. The head-end crew is hoping for a red block ahead so they can break out the fishing poles and make a try for some trout.

Off to a great start!!! Good looking pictures!!
Here’s my latest project.
Faded, rusty, grimed, even added real wood for the tack board.
Since I did not get anything done this last week, I brought out some old stuff and apologize if I have posted these before.
This is an old Robbins Rails 60’ Greenville car, where I spread out the wheelbase from 41’ to 46’, carved off the rivit detail and scribed lines to replicate the weld lines as this is a Thrall version of the 60’ Auto Parts Car. Painted Boxcar Red and lettered with Mark Vaughn’s decals.
Another Robbins Rails 60’ Greenville car, the only change was to change the wheelbase to 46’. Painted Century Green with Black Ends and Roof and lettered with Walther’s Decals.
This is a Details West kit, where I carved off the Plug Door and added a 10’ Door from an Athearn Kit. Painted with Floquil Reading Green and lettered with Herald King Decals.
Thanks for Looking

Happy New Year everyone!
Here’s to a Happy 2012. DJ.

I sure like the depth of your photo, DJ, and the shadowed close side of the box car and diesel look so realistic. I also notice the slight change of grade between siding and the main. Very nice.
The boxcar looks very realistic, Robby.
I call this one “Pennsy Varnish Over Seneca Gorge”
Thanks, Crandell. I may be just a little biased, but that is one beautiful scene and model. DJ.
NIce work, everyone. I’ve been “milling around” the pink foam space that will become Mooseport, the carfloat terminal on my layout. With some relatively warm and dry weather, I broke with tradition and built this structure first, before laying the track or doing any scenery.
I needed the buildings in place to define the location for the old, abandoned canal crossing from upper right to lower left, marked in black and scored across just before I started gouging out the foam. And, I needed the canal before I could lay the track. The siding on the left will be more or less as you see it, but the track curving around behind the buildings to the right will be replaced by street-running girder rail running through cobblestones.
Some great work so far, and I’m sure there’s more to come!
I used some time over break to do some work on my overpass. It’s still a work in progress, but at least it looks like something now.
Nice shot
Looks real
Another great realistic looking pic

Thank-you very much, Bob, for your kind remark. I regret that I later removed that file and added what I thought was an improved one (I moved the train closer to the camera and retook the shot, then fixed the smoke a bit.). Unfortunately, it means your quoted URL is no longer valid. I regret my change and any inconvenience it may cause you. No need to alter your post…your comment is just fine. [:D]
Crandell
Eric,
What were you doing floating around Bimini when you should have been working on your layout?
Are you going to model that scene?
Have fun,
Richard
Finished up some background flats & started detailing & weathering the oil tanks on our N scale Alameda-Belt-in-a-Box layout:
Happy New Year, all!
I guess I could use the excuse that I did some sailing as a way to find clarity on how to best do my yard ladder.
Very nice work everyone, it has been a great year in WPF, & this week is no exception!
I’m choosing this as my closing pic for the year, shot last week.
Although the models are almost stock, I wanted an interesting ‘prop’ to carry the shot.
