WPF 6-25-10

Really like that South Branch car. Well done.

Thanks for the comments on the boxcar. I tired to stay away from my “rust bucket” looking car’s. This one isn’t abused but used [:D].

Driline… I don’t weather as much as I use to. I’ve put more focus on my layout, and the weathering is on a back burner. I do need to do a car or two once in awhile. Keeps me in my “weathering” form [:-,].

Hello very nice work everyone. Here is a random shot.

Have a nice weekend Frank

Here’s a new video – Chasing work extra GRWJ westbound over the White River Southern Railroad. We’ll meet intermodal hotshot WJNA and manifest WJCD along our route. The work train equipment is leased from the Merrimack & Souhegan Railroad, the WRS’ southern partner.

Crandell my friend, hum. With you going Diesel I be happy to take that worn out Y6 b off your hands! [:D]

With all the Yard Work (reclaiming the back yard) I have not touched my layout in 4 weeks now. Next, cleaning the cement pound, it has not been opened for three years now.

Cutting down trees again, Cuda Ken

Ken, if you get Jed & Jethro to help, you’ll have that cement pond cleaned up in no time! [:)]

This is still a work in progress, but at least it’s closer to done than just started. Who says the Monon ceased to exist in 1971? Not in my little universe! Here’s a GP38 in the line’s 1980’s paint scheme.

And with apologies to Cuda Ken, who might suffer F envy, here’s a diesel roster shot just for funsies

Jim

Hey, I like that. Though I think the scheme works better Long Hood Forward. At one time, I thought about a modern Monon, I just cfouldn’t get past the INRD. Really though, all you have to say is that the ICC rejected the L&N merger as anti-competitive and told the two to play nicely together, and away you go. Thgat’ll get them into the Stagger’s Act, when they can largely follow the INRD’s real-life as normal.

I HAS PITTURE! (It won’t win any awards, but I took it to share anyway)

DLMX 231 pauses at Redwood on her way back from a test run. Workers coming out of the hardware store, formerly the freight house inspect the handsome arrival. The town has recently been hit by a violent windstorm, and 281 has just recovered from a rusted turbo.

Okay, so DLMX 231 is a real engine, purchased by the friends of the 4449, or at least one of their members, as HEP power and Dynamic for the steam runs. When Amtrak stored the engine, water got into the turbo, and rusted the thing shut pretty badly, and so far, they haven’t gotten it replaced. Mostly, due to a pending move, and the lack of a need. If you look at the model, the silver pinstripe kept sagging on me, and isn’t straight in a number of places. (Yes, Gloss>Micro-Sol>Decal>Micro>Dull, didn’t help) But I’m tired of trying to fix it, and at

A contrast in freight cars in the E Street Yard : . Regards Jon.

Nice weathering on the boxcars Robby and Jon.

I had been ballasting the track - until I ran out of ballast. So I made a start on the scenic fascia boards and some ‘basket weaving’ with cornflake packets.

Happy modelling

Jon

Jon, The layout is looking good, any chance of seeing on the exhibition circuit “down south” when it’s done? Regards Jon.

Wow, this is my first WPF (looking at) in a year. There is some great work here.

Jacon, your work has come a long way.

Jon, is that a new layout. Seems to m your work was much further along than last I looked.

Crandell, seeing that Warbonnet on your layout makes me wonder if fabric of space-time has been ripped and Elvis will be singing duets with Michael Jackson at the pub down the hill from your house.

I hope to have my Saloon done by next week. Maybe I’ll post a preview tomorrow.

OH NO !!! Gasp Gasp !!

He’s gone over to the " Dark Side "

Where’s the steam i come to know and love ?

Thanks, everyone! What can I say…I slipped… [swg] I will revert to steam for next weekend.[:P]

Crandell … Repeat: “I think I can; I thinbk I can; I think I can …”

Here is my recently completed Uncle Tony’s Produce Stand & Meat Market:

I had the pleasure of visiting the San Diego Model Railroad Museum last Thursday, great place to visit (plus San Diego ain’t to shabby either [tup]).

The San Diego Model Railroad Club modeled the Goat Canyon trestle. The actual trestle was the largest timber railroad trestle in the world at the time of its construction in 1932. This picture doesn’t do it justice, the canyon was from the floor to about 8 feet tall.

Nice modeling everywhere I looked.

In a separate display, they had some survivors from John Allen’s G & D.

The museum is in the Balboa Park area, and there is much more to do here with the family including it’s famous zoo. If your in the area,I recommend it.

No pictures from me, but some outstanding work here! I do have a new video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRMloqTee1o

Crandell, your like the guy on the Island of Sodor, you only do steam locomotives. Ah well, variety…

What I envy more is you have the time and motivation to work on your layout Jim. You did get me thinking about turning some engines I don’ use into Monon. I have a Dash 9 that would make a great Monon.

Time to pick some Bag Worms off the ferns in front of the house.

Where is Mr Greenjeans when you need him?
