WPF 6/29/12 - 7/1/12

Hey everybody, it’s been awhile since I have posted anything so I guess I will get us started with a couple of locomotive projects I just finished up.

Here is my first project. I took a Tower 55 ES44AC and created a Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit # 8102 the Pennsylvania Railroad

Here is the other side

My only regret is that the paint I used was a bit too dark to accurately reflect the current heritage unit. I used Polyscale PRR Maroon and in hindsight I should have used Tucson Red. Other than that I am happy with it. Now lets see how it does on EBay

Here is another shot

My Second project was creating a Dash 9-40C Top hat # 8888

It started by splicing a Dash 9 Athearn shell and a dash 8-40C Atlas Front End. Custom made front ditch lights along with mu cables, plow, firecracker antennas, air conditioner and many other detail parts added.

And of course weathered. I think it came out looking great except for the residue left by my matte finish spray finish.

Last picture, hope you all enjoy and have a great weekend.

i completed a drag line for my coal mine scene

grabbed a quick pic before this gon disappeared into the woods [:P]

Some great work this week. A couple photos of my engine servicing area.

have been working on this area as a portable module. Cabin fishing retreat is one of three buildings

have a good weekend and happy fourth.

wsdimenna- great modeling on that scene.

Here’s restored mogul #330 hauling a special train on the Long Creek Branch.

On June 23, the towns of Long Creek, SC and Clayton, GA held the Chattooga River Festival. Since the branch runs from Westminster to Long Creek, we decided to borrow this engine and two excursion cars and run this special train for the festival.

The branch used to contines all the way to Clayton, where it interchanged with the Tallulah Falls Railroad. The tracks from Long Creek to Clayton were Abandoned in 1964.

I had this Train Miniature kit on the shelf for at least 15 years and always wanted to build it when I got my layout done. Well, I just turned 71 and don’t want to wait any longer, so I got it out a couple of days ago and put it together. I am a little disappointed in the detail level but I guess the kits of years ago didn’t have what the new ones do. I went ahead and finished and weathered it anyway. Maybe I will find the time to rework it some day?

Jeremy, that looks like most of my prototype photos, except it is more in focus!

Another wonderful start to Weekend Photo Fun everybody!

An HO replica of Stoney Creek Bridge. The prototype is on the Canadian CPR line in BC Canada. This scratchbuilt model can be seen on our club layout.

It’s work like this that keeps me so insecure that I never post on this thread. [bow]

But I read it religiously.

Have to agree my work doesn’t reach the level of the above work. Here is my Safety Kleen facility and two trucks I repaint for it.

Working on the last section of my layout, slow and steady track work. The turnouts are spiked and ready to roll.

Cheers Colorado Mack

Who is that masked man!

Why, it’s… it’s… SUPER modeler!!!

Yeah, I wish.

No, it’s Just Jarrell, doing some touch up painting on a kit. [|)] [

No new photos from me. Here is one from a few months ago at the blast furnace.

“Its the wifes DSLR camera, I had no idea what I was doing.”

You could have fooled me! I love it.
