WPF 7/2 - 7/6

The BLMA brand fence is finally in. Many details yet to go.

Fantastic looking modeling and pictures, definetely “magazine” quality, and your weathering in dead on target as well, really a suburb job!!!

I do have one question and it in NO way reflects on your modeling skills, what happened to the outside rear view mirrors on the vehicles? It would never show except everythig else is 'soooooo" realistic. Actually the pick up is the one I noticed, it looks sort of naked without them.

But on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give you a 9.99999

Man you guys beat me to it, I was looking forward to starting this thread. Nonetheless, I recently purchased my 3rd Tower 55 ES44DC in the Northern Pacific Livery. I intend this one to be a Norfolk Southern in the gray ghost or primer paint scheme. Here is what I had to start with.

The next four pictures are the previous two Tower 55’s that have been painted. Both were in the Northern Pacific livery and the challenging part was moving the headlights to the correct positions and getting the paint to stick to the trucks.

These last two pictures are from the most recent one I did. Now I just need to go back and lightly weather both of them.

Really great start to the weekend so far. Keep them coming.

BNSF SW1000 in Estreet yard . Regards Jon.

Nice work everyone!

Driline -I like the fence, but the boxcar weathering steals the show. It’s fantastic!

I know it’s a bit sappy, but I reworked a recent photo to fit an independence day theme. Happy 4th of July to our American members!

Dang you guys are good. Awesome pics from everyone, love the 4th of July theme going on.

I just completed the Rix highway overpass for my railyard scene. Next I’ll be working on the intermodal yard.

Happy 4th everyone!!!

A few things I’ve been working on:

This is a recently completed truck at Sheepscot Transfer and Storage. The Dysarts truck is a Sylvan Scale Mack COE and the trailer is Classic Metals Works. Both are painted with home made decals. Dysarts is a real company located in Hermon, ME

Narrow gauge: H0n3 code 55 and code 40

Frank, your weathering (and everything else) is outstanding. [bow]

Happy 4th of July everyone !!

As time permits, I’ve been working on a corner of my layout. This area has a section of cork over part of it and I decided it would be a good spot for a small lake or pond. I drew out a rough shape and then cut out the cork revealing the extruded foam base…

I then covered the bottom with plaster cloth, smoothing over holes as much as possible. I used Woodland Scenics Flex Paste to cover all holes after the cloth had dried and painted it…

I then poured a couple of 1/8th inch deep layers of WS Realistic Water and after that had dried good I installed some tall grasses at the edge using WS Water Effects as an adhesive and then did some sceniking work around the area using ground goop for a base.

Today I’ve poured the final layer of ‘water’, working it around the grass with a tooth pick. and after that dries I’ll work on lilly pads.

Here’s a shot showing the area overall…

Jarrell, great job on the pond, very realistic.

K4s crossing Hammer Creek. DJ.

Thanks Grampy, I appreciate it. [:D]

I like your Hammer Creek shot also. Looks like somebody’s getting in some late afternoon fishin’!

Jarrell

Driline, you have set a very high standard for this WPF! [:O] Nice photos!

Bruce, your photo with the fireworks is excellent. It’s a keeper. Could be on a postcard.

Jarrell, I am happy to see your new water at last. I’d say you have done it very well. I wouldn’t mind a close to macro shot.

This weekend I show a Class J braking as it descends the shallow grade across the interchange bridge over the Seneca River. The woman in the trailing canoe looks up in appreciation for the immense and hissing locomotive as it looms above their canoe.

-Crandell

Excellent start of a long weekend. [:D]. Looking forward to seeing much more.

Nice everybody!

Saturday in the Park, I think it was the 4th. of July…

4th of July in Hopewell Junction and the Papec Band has started their annual John Phillip Sousa concert. I think I hear their opening number now. The “Stars and Stripes Forever!”

Not many trains running on the Holiday, just the local Milk Run on it’s late afternoon run. Gotta get that milk to the dairy!

Ah the closing number… The Washington Post March! One of my favorites!

A happy Fourth to all of you out there South of the Border. I already wished our friends to the North a Happy Canada Day a couple days ago!
