WPF for 16 - 20 Dec, 2011

Same Pennsy Power as last weekend, pulling into a siding to allow the varnish to roar past.

.

Got the weathering and decals done on the well car.

Great shot, Crandell. I see you are up to your usual high quality.

A few more shots of the club layout.

Jeffery - Great weathering job on the double-stack!

Here is my newly acquired Athearn Genesis FEF 4-8-4

Action in Hawk Point, Missouri on the M&A Railway.

Nice shot Odie! Just needs a couple of figures…but it looks great as is.

Outstanding image, Crandell. Congrats on a great looking loco, Michael. Interesting shot, Odie.

Crandell: Great photography … Odie: Your picture is artistic. Nice … Jeff: Nice work with weathering … Rick: Looks like a fun club! … Michael: Congrats on acquiring your FEF 4-8-4 … TomKat: Great details in your scenes and a terrific choice of prototype (Burlington) … DJ: Love the RSD15 and the picture has great perspective.

On my layout, Charlie Railfan was visiting Blackhawk again, and he captured quite a lens full. Looking around the blast furnace, there are 3 mill-owned Baldwins at work. Meanwhile, a CB&Q SD7/SD9 lashup is delivering an ore train to the steel mill. SD24’s are on the main line with a freight train. Two Burlington switchers are also in the picture. The flour mill is in the background.

Great Photos everyone. Only thing I’e done this week is some repair trackwork. Here are some photos of switching

Wow, some pretty impressive stuff this week. Here’s my contribution, a just-completed loading dock with jib crane:

The loading dock is a micro-trains kit, the crane is by Durango Press. The support structure is scratchbuilt.

Just a couple close ups for me this weekend.

I was able to finish up another locomotive repaint recently. This is an IHC Mehano 4-8-2 taking the siding at Frostbite Falls. I tried for a slightly weathered look like the locomotive came out of the shop a few months ago. Just painting the silver tires does a lot to improve these old IHC locos and hide the oversize flanges.

Shot of a 2-stall engine house/machine shop I’m working on.

The roof is removable. I stained the wood inside.

Water tower to go nearby. All of it is scratch built.

My project today was changing out the front coupler on this 70’s era Bachmann 0-6-0. Now I need to touch up the parts of the body where the metal is showing through the paint.

Sue, DJ, and Garry, thanks very much for your comments. I appreciate them. [:)]

Crandell

A scratch built bridge, the bldg. on the left is also scratch built

Great shot and scenery

Some examples of good modeling. I always enjoy but very seldom join in…
