With the paint on most of the road units in fairly good condition, only a lettering update was applied to the units. Hopefully the Blue & Marigold diesels will be will be around for a good time to come.

Nice rendition of Edward Hopper’s ‘Nighthawks’, Gaffen. I love seeing well known scenes reproduced in miniature on layouts and always wanted to do that one, but have never quite gotten around to it. Do you perhaps have any further, ‘daytime’, photos so that we can see what the building’s exterior and its surroundings are like in their entirety?
From what can be seen in your ‘night’ photo, the restaurant appears to be set on a bluff, or above a cut of some sort, making me wonder if you’ve executed the scene in the very same manner John Armstrong did on his layout years ago?
And we reinstalled the scratchbuilt 120’ turntable in the furnace closet with some mock up scenery. Purely utilitarian, the layout wasn’t planned to have one and it would look out of place on it anyway.
An area I’m working on that used to be a hillside with track going up into a logging area. I simply couldn’t stand all that wasted space so I’m reworking it and adding 3 new industries since I’m a bit more into ops than scenery though I like them both.
Flannigans Furniture is the larger building on the left and a scrap/salvage yard will be beside the metal building.
