WPF Weekend Photo Fun 4/1 thru 4/3

The ‘new’ look of IC&E and DM&E engines.

With the paint on most of the road units in fairly good condition, only a lettering update was applied to the units. Hopefully the Blue & Marigold diesels will be will be around for a good time to come.

The model:
Kato HO SD40-2 Mid #37-6610
Detail Associates & RailFlyer detail parts
Decals from 8 sheets of Microscale Decals
An ‘in-the-works’ Ath BlueBox CP SD40-2 is behind the Kato.

Happy “April Fools” Everyone!!!

Joke or not, I think you have some nice photos there, Chad. A nice layout as well.

I call this one “Just Another Seneca Afternoon”

Crandell

I have been busy rebuilding the city on my layout. Here is some nightshots of it as it looks now:

As you can see it´s a work in progress. Real good time ahead of me to make all the small details now.

Nice rendition of Edward Hopper’s ‘Nighthawks’, Gaffen. I love seeing well known scenes reproduced in miniature on layouts and always wanted to do that one, but have never quite gotten around to it. Do you perhaps have any further, ‘daytime’, photos so that we can see what the building’s exterior and its surroundings are like in their entirety?

From what can be seen in your ‘night’ photo, the restaurant appears to be set on a bluff, or above a cut of some sort, making me wonder if you’ve executed the scene in the very same manner John Armstrong did on his layout years ago?

Hi and welcome to April,

you guys over there are certainly great innovators. I was lucky enough to be able to get my hands on a new product to help with scenery.

Should be available soon they tell me.

Check it out here

@Geffen, wonderful urban scene. You really caught the era.

This week was a very busy one.

Some progress on my fleet of 4 kitbashed drop bottom gondola (bachmann 40’ gondola).

Completed the kitbashed Massey Harris dealer building. Final paintwork not done. Scratchbuilding the small 1 storey shed was quite fun.

And we reinstalled the scratchbuilt 120’ turntable in the furnace closet with some mock up scenery. Purely utilitarian, the layout wasn’t planned to have one and it would look out of place on it anyway.

Enjoy!

Matt

Looks like we are off to a good start!!

Here’s a few oldies but goodies from me…

I’m today busy with 0n26

This is what you get with three-rail- track.

My goodness, model railroading is hard to do. Nobody is ever willing to help you, they are all just so lazy:

[swg] Happy April fools!

An area I’m working on that used to be a hillside with track going up into a logging area. I simply couldn’t stand all that wasted space so I’m reworking it and adding 3 new industries since I’m a bit more into ops than scenery though I like them both.

Flannigans Furniture is the larger building on the left and a scrap/salvage yard will be beside the metal building.

Great work so far, everybody!

This picture was around last April 1st. … It would be nice if it was real.

The real “blackbird” paint scheme looked good on Burlington SD7’s in the 1950’s. Here is a model of one.

Nice work so far in the thread. Thought I might post a few from the old layout:

Guy

Nice work so far.

Chad - I agree. Joke or not, that’s some great modeling!

Here’s a shot of some foreign power on my layout that’s just passing through,… I hope (gulp). [oX)]

Thanks MABruce & Selector! I appreciate your comments!

I think what makes it neat, is that it could be probable.

Thanks for seeing the resemblence [:D]

I put it on a “overpass” so it came up a bit and also on the front of the layout.

I took this one today:

As you see, there is some work to be done yet.

Good work, everyone.

Opening day of trout season at Hammer Creek. DJ.

Looking good so far and that is no joke…

Here is the small bit of progress I have made on my overpass.

There are some excellent modeling pics this week.

DJ, Nice pic and very fitting. Is opening day in SE PA tomorrow or next Saturday?

Awesome! No Fooling.
