You could have explained where the cars came from.

Sounds to me like this company will be operating on a shoestring. It appears there will only be 2 train sets, that will need to be parked for up to 3 days in either Las Vegas or LA when not in use. And what engineers will bid on the job when it’s only 1 roundtrip over a 3-day period?

I hate to sound negatively pessimistic like Jeff Guse, but without government subsidies, I think that the project will eventually fail.

Taking the Desert Wind off was insane. Another Amtrak blunder along with the Pioneer.

The market is ripe for rail passenger service on account of the I-15 parking lot and the horrific airline service. This needs to happen. Oh, yes you naysayers, Mega- Bus can only go as fast as traffic on I-15 will allow.

The City of Las Vegas’ motto: “What happens in Las Vegas, STAYS in Las Vegas”.

What mode of transportation ISN’T subsidized in one way or the other, Yasyl?

There are definitely some rolling stock utilisation problems with this business model, and the absence of standard class service probably leaves a lot of potential revenue on the table.

It has been a disgrace that two of the most visited tourist destinations in the US have no train service linking them. A really good high-speed train linking them should be preferable to all the agony of present-day airports. The service needs to be daily, or even more frequent. If this actually comes to pass, I’ll be amazed. And I wish them the best of luck and success.

This is an excellent alternative to driving or flying. Although, flying is only a hour, I would probably take the train!
