Xtrkcad help please

Unless I’m wrong, xtrkcad doesn’t have the Peco code 83 turnouts. Would another brand be identical to use for this program?

Thanks,
Aaron

they just call them Peco turnouts i think (ie they don’t differentiate the track as they do with the Atlas)

I think the size and angle will be the same for Peco code 83/ 100 I used 100 for my plan.

Ok, does anyone know which turnout would be best suited for 22" radius? The choices Xtrkcad have are small, medium, and long.

Aaron,

Thre is no ‘match’ for 22" radius. Prototype turnouts are set by angles. The only model turnout that has a continuous ‘curve’ through it is the Atlas ‘Snap Switch’ and the many ‘clones’ of it. These have a 18" radius curve through them. The Atlas Customline #4 is close, but still is not a ‘drop in’ replacement for a section of sectional curved trackage.

The Peco library in XtrkCad is for code 100. This has to do with the height of the rail.

A Google search finally revealed the following for the SL-96 (LH medium turnout) part number in XtrkCad. The “E” in the part number is for electofrog vs. no “E” which means insulated frog.

You should be able to find a conversion web quite easily.

Hope this helps.
