Yard Tower over Tracks

@wjstix
That’s the track that the cars from the shop can get to the yard to get sent out.

I think I’ve found some components on a 3D print site that I work with to make a reasonable looking building loosely based on the Pennsylvania railroad tower
Thank you for all the suggestions. (And, yes, I will post pictures when I get it finished.)

Is that a tower for a yard? It appears to me that there is a crossing behind the tower and under/behind the engine.

Hi maxman,
I just showed it as an example of a small footprint Structure that might fit in somewhere, if you are tight for space.
Paul.

Yes. I was just wondering what it would be called.

Yes that is an interlocking tower controlling a diamond crossing. Absolutely nothing to do with yards.

Gotcha. Thanks.

Hi FRRYKid, I was checking through my book about N. American Railroad Yards and there is this one at Selkirk Yard.

Whilst this Tower is controlling a Hump, there is no need to model such a massive Structure.
A low-relief Column could be a piece of PSE Softwood, secured to either your Fascia or Backscene and the Cantilever could be Strip-wood, with a couple of Stanchions, as shown.
The Super-structure could be taken from any suitable proprietary kit.

This is one of the things I like about our Hobby so much - you get to use your imagination as well as your initiative.
Paul.
