I recently purchased a Lionel LV “Yellow Jacket” C-420 engine for my layout. I am wondering about the triple lights to either side of the headlight. The model lights them white but I have a suspicion they may have been marker lights and in color. Any knowledge on this topic? My curiousity needs satisfaction.
PS: It is a handsome engine, in my opinion, that I understand LV crews originally mocked calling it a “circus engine” because of the colors but I only wish I had seen the prototypes that ran not too far from me in upstate NY.
