Yet another foam question

Sorry if this has been covered before guys, I did a search and couldn’t find it. I ended up having to use 4 pieces of 2inch blue foam to cover my benchwork( a hollow door). Last night I glued it together and onto the door using Elmers wood glue. My question is, when the glue dries I still have a bunch of seems at track level I have to deal with where the pices of foam come together.

What is the best material to fill in those seems and cracks with. This is in my living room and not that greatly ventalated, so fumes would be a concern. Thanks as always in advance!

I dont know how you feel about this or even if others agree but, i used joint compond on mine with a hint of what ever acrylic color to tint it. it worked for me on mine? you might mix a small amount and try that and see if it works? i’d do it on a sample area and see how it turns out before you go all the way?

Plaster cloth works too but you kinda have to cover the whole area, or at least an area till you get an large senicked area that you can hide the seam.

Latex caulk.

I use drywall mud, and non-shrink spackle.

Light weight, premixed drywall joint compound. I use ut for everything. One caution, when painting with water base paint, don’t scrub the first coat or it will disaolve the joint compound. If you are in a hurry, plaster of paris will work, but I think it is messy.

Thanks for the tips guys…Sounds like another trip to Ace Hardware. Luckily the one here also has a hobby shop in the basement!
