Yet another Tech 4 question...

I saw here http://www.wholesaletrains.com/Detail.asp?Scale=None&Item=MRCDC&ID=20011563 that this hand held control device plugs into Tech 4 model 250 and 300. Is this a typo or is there a model Tech 4 un released or old? Will it hook up to a 220 or 260?

I can tell you that it will NOT connect to the 260. No jack on that one. Dave

Model Rectifier’s Web site makes no mention of being able to plug anything into a Tech 4. If you check their Web site when you have questions about Model Rectifier products you’ll get more accurate answers.

A walk around plugs into a 250 but not a 260…another route is to purchase a DALLEE Yardmaster walk around throttle…it is wired to the AC terminals of a power pack, converts the power to DC, and then wires to the track…an advantage of the Yardmaster is that the teather wire is a bit longer than the MRC version…it runs around $90.00…Chuck[:D]

I saw this on eBay. I have never seen a tech 4 model 250. When was it made? Is it any good?

the 250 came out about ten years ago…it was the model that had a plug in for a walk around throttle…the only time i saw one was a picture of it in MR years ago advertising the unit…I have been searching for the MRC walk around throttle and have yet found one in any of their advertising…that’s why I went with the DALLEE Yardmaster throttle…in fact…it just came in yesterday via UPS…it will be awhile but i will eventually get around to installing it on my layout and will let you know how it goes…Chuck …[:D] P.S… CMDR. HUH?..you a Naval officer or something?..

I have the MRC Tech 4 Rail Power 350 with Memory. It has a walk around control as an add on. I really like it.
The memory function however is confusing. I can’t seem to get the momentum I set to turm off.
BTW, I’ve extended the walk around by a couple of plug in points around the room, and am planning more. If anyone has had trouble doing this, I can pass on my solution.
Regards.
